Covid-19 Event Cancellations
For May and June

VADA/Nova Members and Competitors,

The VADA/Nova Board regrets to inform you that we are canceling the following events:

  • Licensed Show May 20th at Morven Park
  • Licensed Shows June 5th, 6-7th at Morven Park
  • Low Stress Fix-a-Test June 13th at Compass Rose Farm

This decision is in line with the Commonwealth of Virginia Office of the Governor Executive Order Number Fifty-Five (2020) Temporary Stay At Home Order Due to Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) effective through June 10th, 2020. The VADA/Nova Board is monitoring the situation and if Governor Northam extends the Executive Order all events that fall within the dates of the extension will also be canceled.

In addition to the rules in place for the Commonwealth of Virginia, we are following the guidance we receive from the United States Equestrian Federation (USEF) which suspended all USEF owned events, selection trials, training camps, clinics, and activities with a moratorium on recording horse show results through May 3rd, 2020. Following the USEF’s lead, the United States Dressage Federation (USDF) has extended the moratorium on recording results from Dressage Competitions and any submitted schooling show results through May 3rd, 2020. VADA/Nova will follow USEF/USDF guidelines regarding applicability of horse show results.

Going forward VADA/Nova will continue to abide by the guidance obtained from the list below in order to make cancellation decisions:

  1. Commonwealth of Virginia Office of the Governor
  2. USEF
  3. USDF
  4. Venue Owners

Please note that all refunds from our March Schooling Show and our April Licensed Show have been processed. We thank all who entered for their support!

At the present we cannot predict how long this will last nor what the full impact will be. We have your best interest at the forefront, and we will communicate as more information becomes available.

The Board values each of you and your commitment and contributions to our organization and our sport. We are working behind the scenes to determine how COVID-19 will affect not only our activity schedule but also how it impacts the value proposition VADA/Nova membership is intended to provide and what we can do to ensure our members enjoy a level of benefit in lieu of the activities we had scheduled in 2020.

In closing, please take this seriously, follow all guidance, and stay safe and healthy!

Warm Regards,

Diann Carpenter
President VADA/Nova
