VADA/Nova Policy
For Non-Competing Horses
At Our Schooling Shows
The following policy will apply to any horses present on the grounds of a VADA/Nova sponsored schooling show that are not entered to compete in the show (other than regular boarders of the show facility).
This policy is being implemented for the safety of competitors, and for VADA/Nova’s insurance coverage.
Riders seeking to bring a non-competing horse to the show grounds must:
-
Register with the show secretary in advance (does not need to be by the closing date for the show, but does need to be done before the horse arrives on the show grounds). If the show is exceptionally full or there are other considerations, such as limited trailer parking, show management has the discretion to deny a request to bring a non-competing horse to a schooling show.
-
Submit a valid Coggins for the non-competing horse (preferably in advance of the show date, but this must be done before the horse can be unloaded from the trailer).
-
Pay a $30 non-compete fee. as well as any applicable grounds fees.
-
Sign a waiver (done at the show grounds).
-
Wear the assigned bridle number while mounted on the show grounds.
-
VADA/Nova's policy for all of their schooling shows is that all riders from Intro through Grand Prix, whenever mounted, must be wearing a riding helmet which meets or exceeds ASTM (American Society for Testing and Materials)/SEI (Safety Equipment Institute) standards for equestrian use and carries the SEI tag. The headgear and harness must be secured and properly fitted.
This applies to warm-up, competition and non-compete horses.
Thank you for your compliance with this policy.
